The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, chaired the fifth meeting regarding the new Al-Sadr City project east of the capital, Baghdad. According to a statement from his office received by “Baghdad Today,” the Prime Minister was briefed on the latest procedures for transferring ownership of the land allocated for the project. He also reviewed the preparations for implementing the basic designs of the project and its accessories, in addition to being informed of the requirements for conducting laboratory tests to ensure the safety of the work in order to commence the construction process.
Al-Sudani emphasized the need to announce the implementation of the infrastructure of the project soon, followed by the start of implementing the first phase of residential units. This is to expedite the completion of this strategic and important project for the residents of Al-Sadr City and the surrounding areas. The new city will represent a qualitative leap in urban housing in the capital, Baghdad.
It is worth mentioning that the current government announced in April 2023 the new Al-Sadr City project, which covers a total area of 4,000 dunams, extending between the Al-Maamel area and the outskirts of Al-Sadr City east of the capital, Baghdad.
